Claudio Ambrosini – Kapsberger, Secret Pages

An exploration of unknown works by Venetian composers Kapsberger and Ambrosini by theorbo player Stefano Maiorana.

Stefano Maiorana explores lesser-known works by two Venetian composers; the famous Baroque theorbo virtuoso Kapsberger (c.1580-1651) and Ambrosini (b.1948). Kapsberger’s well known works have frequently been recorded, however these have been taken directly from manuscripts. Similarly Maiorana features unpublished works from Ambrosini.

We feature one of Kapsberger’s untitled works [Untitled] (1) in our playlist Weekend Classics.
